Yep. :3
…Except nobody calls it that here, in Canada. I’m a “10th grader,” thank you very much.
Okay, so I’ve just about wrapped up the first 3 weeks of school. So far it’s been kind of, intresting? It’s a really nice feeling walking through the halls and knowing what’s going on. This years seniors aren’t dicks, and the freshman are short and cute. They get stuck on the numerous trick doors in the school, which I’ve saved them from many times now. (Seriously, somebody needs to fix the doors.) My classes are turning out to be pretty okay. Nothing too horrible, only two classes I dread going to are english and math. The later because, well I just suck at math. Our teacher is somewhat of a homework nazi. (Which I should be doing right now.) And english? That’s a pretty good subject of mine! It’s a class you can’t fail. But our teacher talks on and on, and she always repeats herself. Her accent makes me sleepy. The dreaded art class is not so dreadful this year. Unlike last years teacher, this one knows what he’s doing! (Well actually, I have two art teachers and both are really awesome.) He was an illustrator and is pretty intrested in graphic novels. ![]()
What’s not helping at all is the earliest and shortest lunch ever. Starts at 10:15! 40 minutes! I need time to digest pls. By the end of the day I’m a zombie on the search for food.
Nothing too intresting has happened yet, just the funny little happenings between me and my friends. (Geek squad!) Though I am hosting the Zombie Movie Marathon next weekend. We’ll see what unfolds. Also, I had told the guys a while ago that my parents don’t like guys over at the house. Which is a total lie, so they really freaked out when I agreed to host it. I love being evil. ![]()
Also, I’m going to be waitressing at our schools coffee house event this year. (Coffee House = Starbucks Coffee + The Main Hall + The schools talent performing!) The theme is Film Noire, so I need to dress fancy. Teehee. [/girly] (Last years was Peter Pan. I got to be a pirate.)
Bleh, I haven’t written anything in a while.
That’s the current number of songs my iTunes is holding. I got iTunes approximatly at the end of July. (The 27th, actually.) I had about 750 songs? So I’ve just about doubled that in the span of almost 2 months. So, iTunes, curse or blessing? (Note: I haven’t been using the store to acquire music.) I just look at the span of my music collection, neatly organized in this nice looking program, and I want more. A lot more.
In fact, two clicks and I can figure out exactly when and what I added to iTunes in that span of time.
If I was really fancy I would blog about music now. Only if I was really fancy though. *cough*
Obviously not fancy enough. Maybe another time.
…And I don’t even mind. At all.
(Note: The title and the above sentence is all I got down. Hours ago.)
Continued:
New iPod Nano: This would be my first iPod so I don’t have anything to compare it to. But my god, Apple you’ve come a long way now. This thing is so damn tiny. Pictures just aren’t good enough to determine how small and precise this thing is. Sure, it’s a bit wider than the other generations, but it’s so compact. You’ve got your screen, you’ve got your fancy scroll wheel thing, and that’s it. It sat safely in my pocket today, and more than a couple times I jumped and checked if it was still there.
Oh Apple, I love looking at this tiny little black iPod, turning it on and seeing so much jammed in there. Not just jammed, but beautifully jammed in. Screen is just gorgeous. Not to mention they changed around the menu a bit. The main menus only take up half the screen, graphics flowing across the other half. (If you’re set on music, it pans across an album. Photos, pans across photos, etc.) Lots of little things I’ve never noticed about iPods, things you wouldn’t notice until you start using it.
How did I once hate these machines? Learning to understand things before I bash them for no reason. (Well, reasons, but nothing justified.)
Overall, I love scrolling through photos, or music and seeing it all there, in this tiny package. I’ve seen the light of Apple, it is warm and filled with good design.
New Mac Keyboard: Hey hey, it does work on a Windows machine.
I’m not even aware of something been done to this degree in keyboards. It’s a piece of metal (cool to the touch, magnificent), with these elegant flat keys, mechanics somewhere in the middle of this thin sandwich, all on a plastic bottom. Plus, two USB outlets. Which are proving quite useful.
It’s hard to explain if you haven’t tried one of these out, and I suggest you do. It feels like typing on a laptop, except not quite so cramped. It sounds amazing, what used to be a horribly loud spacebar is probably the quietest of the set, keystrokes sound like pindrops. Last night this room had all of us in it. Four of madly typing away at our computers, and you could hardly hear a sound from me. Not to mention that it’s just nice to type on! The keys are soft and the sound pulls you in. If the simple pleasures of it continue to amaze me, I might just have to write a book. *type type type type*
This thing is sleek, and sexy, and amazing. Everything it needs to be, nothing else. Looks great on my desk, and gives me so much more desk space than I ever thought I would have. (Also, my cats think it is a bed. Though, I won’t be finding any fur in this keyboard, unlike the last.)
Thanks~
Rather blurry, sorry. New keyboard + iPod. Also, check the inscription.
Note: I don’t usually have that black mouse connected. I was having a hard time figuring out USB connections.
Second Note: My desk is rather silly. I know! Leave me alone.
One last thing:
I have a website! Kind of didn’t mention it to anybody to let it breathe a little. I’m still miserably failing in the cleaning up process. (This template is kind of gross.) But welcome! Sorry I kept it from you! (What little it is….) (Basically: Hi Rob!)
Before:
I actually woke up pretty on time, had some time before to wake up and prepare a bit. Was kind of late in walking over to the meeting spot. (About 15 minutes from my house.) Almost got hit by a car! Shit that kind of scared me, way to pay attention to what I’m doing. (This on ramp to the highway usually has NO CARS. EVER.) It was the combination of a hoodie, being in a rush, and the iPod. Oops. Anyway, I get to the place 15 minutes late. Kyron had been late too. Fred had been there on time and he lives farthest away. We wait for Ross….for an hour. Why do none of them have cell phones? Turns out he had gone to the theatre up the street. (The one near our school, usual meeting place.) But we weren’t at that one. He had gone back to his house to call us. (20 minutes away.) Well, it all got sorted out, but the marathon started an hour later than it should have.
It begins:
The guys are amazed by being allowed into my house and we file into the basement, stocked with food. (Well close to food, coke and chips.) (Which are all gone now.) I have an L shaped couch, but it all kind of centered in this mass cuddle in the corner. Didn’t know we where so damn cuddly! We moved around a couple times but there was always like 4 of in this mass heap. Soooo sweaty and gross. But kind of a comfortable cuddleness level among friends. ![]()
The Movies:
The Night of the Living Dead:
In original black and white, because that’s so much more dramatic. We basically laughed our asses off the entire way through, it’s a slow paced movie, and lots of random stuff happens. The zombies were pretty non-belivable in this one. Thus upsetting. The part we can all agree on is this little girl turning zombie, eating her dad, then stabbing her mom a good 15 times with a spade. She just looked so…cute? We’re horrible. The ending was kind of cool though. Also, after this movie ended the 5th guy showed up. A bit late, but he completed the couch. (Pretty stuffed at this point.)
Dawn of the Dead:
I’m thinking this is the best totally “zombie” movie. It fit the genre pretty well. It was also pretty well filmed, and it was nice to see color after the black and white. Basically 4 people, in a mall, during the zombie acopolypse. They loot the place, baricade the entrances, kill all the remaining zombies. (Horribly amazing fake red blood. So bright.) Lots of intresting stuff going on, damn I want to loot a mall!
(At this point we took a break for the bathroom, guys were amazed by my room of computers, and all my dads fancy computer stuff. Glad I cleaned my desk a couple days ago.)
Army of Darkness: (Evil Dead 3?)
Look, Evil Dead movies are not meant to be taken seriously. Not even the slightest bit. This is filled with horrible puns, horrible acting, horrible effects, and horrible horrible jokes. And still amazingly funny with your friends around. But if I talk more of this movie I’m going to kill myself. Actually.
28 Days Later:
I REALLY wanted to see this, for a while now. But I felt bad downloading it! Of course they had all seen it. And talked through it. “OMG I LOVE THE SCENE COMING UP. SO INTENSE.” >:O
Still an amazing movie. Hey, these descriptions are getting shorter. This was probably my favourite, also the actual scary one. We all jumped more than a few times, due to amazing surround sound. (Thank you, dad.)
So yes, definantly cool. Need to watch again, without them talking over every damn thing.
Shaun of the Dead:
To break up the scaryness, we watched the more funny one. This got the greatest “awesome” factor out of the group. It’s a pretty well rounded movie. Lots of well placed comedy. (Oh the british~) (Heh. Shorter descriptions. Getting lazier.)
Plane Dead:
Last movie of the night, this is a screener Ross got from a friend of a friend, who does movie reviews. Kind of cool? We got super sweaty and cuddly and it was almost to the point of ackward. They kept going for my boobs. Okay, well basically it’s really vicious fast moving zombies on a plane. Lots of impossible scenes, but much better than a certain other movie. That had to do with planes…and snakes…and Saumel L. Jackson.
Then it ended, we watched some TV till their folks came. I have a basement to clean tommorow. Intestines to purge.
osnap getting kicked off to bed. BLOG POST COMPLETE.
